qaping

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Summary

qaping runs playtests of your game with real human playtesters and returns what they found: a recording, their answers, and a report. qaping is operated by Fusiform Labs, Inc.. By using it you agree to these terms.

1. The service

You request a playtest round, either through your coding agent or from the qaping dashboard. For each round:

  • You choose the session length (10 to 120 minutes) and how many playtesters take part (up to 3), and you provide the game as a store page or an uploaded build.
  • Independent playtesters claim the round, play your game for the session length, and submit a recording of the session together with the standard questionnaire, any questions you added, and their answers about the issues on your issue board.
  • Recordings, answers, transcripts and AI-generated summaries are delivered to your account. Playtesters are not your employees or contractors, and you do not direct their work beyond the instructions you attach to a round.

2. Account

You sign in with Google or email. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for all activity on your account, including activity by any coding agent you connect to it. Do not create accounts with fake or stolen identities.

You must be at least 13 years old to use qaping (or 16 if you live in the EU or UK). If you use qaping on behalf of a studio or company, you confirm you have the authority to bind it to these terms.

3. Your game and your builds

  • You must own, or hold the rights to, every game, build, asset and instruction you submit. You keep ownership of all of it.
  • To run a round we share your build or store link with the playtesters who claim it. Playtesters are told it is a developer build that qaping has not reviewed. A pre-release build still leaves your hands: do not upload anything you cannot afford to have seen by a third party.
  • Uploaded builds stay in your account until you delete them, unless you set an expiry when uploading. A build that an open round still points at cannot be replaced without ending that playtester's session.
  • Builds must not contain malware, spyware, or anything that harms a playtester's device or collects their data without consent. We may remove a build or end a round at any time if we believe it does.

4. Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Submit games, builds or player instructions that are illegal, that harass or threaten anyone, or that are sexually explicit involving minors.
  • Use a round to extract playtesters' personal data, to recruit them off the service, or to induce them to do anything other than play and report on your game.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape or load-test the service without prior written permission.
  • Resell access, or share one account across unrelated organisations, without prior agreement.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules without prior notice. Severe violations may be reported to law enforcement.

5. Credits

Playtests are paid for in qaping credits. A round's cost depends on its session length and player count and is shown before you file it. Current prices, the free allowance for new accounts, subscriptions and credit packs are listed on the pricing section.

  • Purchased credits do not expire. Promotional credits are non-refundable.
  • Subscription credits are granted each time an invoice is paid, and any left unspent expire when the next period begins; they do not roll over. You can cancel at any time and the current period runs to its end.
  • qaping credits are their own balance: credits or allowances from any other product cannot be spent on playtests, and qaping credits cannot be spent elsewhere.
  • Credits have no cash value outside the service.
  • Prices may change; the price shown when you file a round is the price you pay for it.

6. When you are charged

  • Credits are charged when a playtester completes a session. Filing a round requires a balance that covers its full cost.
  • A round that reaches its deadline without anyone claiming it is not charged, and the reserved credits are released.
  • You may cancel a live round from the dashboard. Cancelling stops new playtesters from claiming it, but a session already in progress runs to completion and is charged: that playtester has done the work.
  • Running a round of your own game yourself is free and is marked as a self-run in every report.

7. Refunds

Completed sessions are non-refundable: the playtester has already been paid. If you believe a session was not delivered as described, or you have a billing question, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will review it.

If we approve a refund for unused purchased credits, it is based on the amount you actually paid for the pack or period, not the standard per-credit price.

8. Content and licences

Playtesters keep ownership of their recordings and answers and grant qaping the right to deliver them to you. You may use everything a round returns, including footage of your own game, for developing, testing and marketing your game. You may not present a playtester's words or footage as an endorsement, and you may not publish anything that identifies a playtester without their consent.

AI-generated transcripts, summaries and reports are derived from that material and are yours to use on the same terms. We may use anonymised, aggregated data about rounds to improve the service.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may terminate accounts for violation of these terms. On termination, unused purchased credits are handled under the refund policy above, promotional and subscription credits expire, and uploaded builds may be deleted.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uptime, that a round will be claimed, or how quickly results arrive. Playtest findings reflect the experience and opinions of individual playtesters, not of qaping, and no round can promise to find every bug. AI-generated summaries and transcripts can be wrong: the recording and the playtester's own answers are the record.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of Fusiform Labs, Inc. for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of qaping is limited to the greater of $100 or the fees you have paid us in the last 12 months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, including any loss arising from a build being seen by a third party.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of laws. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.

13. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. Material changes will be posted here and announced in the dashboard or by email. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance.
